BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Join former American record-holder and NCAA Champion Coach Chris Solinsky for an unforgettable running camp experience at the beautiful Central Wisconsin Environmental Station, in Stevens Point!

A note from Coach Solinsky: "I am incredibly passionate about the sport of track and field and specifically distance running. My hope is to spread that passion to anyone that attends the camp while also sharing any variety of the experiences I have been lucky enough to have during my time in the sport. There have been many valuable experiences both positive and negative that lead to shape a love for the sport that have brought me from a kid that did not want to run to someone that has made a career in the sport and a lifelong runner. My aim is to impart some of the important lessons on those that attend the camp, while giving tips for training and developing a mental edge for competitions."

CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Weightloss, and more. Running. Cross Country.

CAMP FACILITIES: The Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES) offers premier summer camp options. Teams can be housed in the same cabin, single gender. The modern bathhouse and shower facility is located within the cabin loop.

Wireless access is available in the Sunset and Walker lodges.

CWES also provides plenty of opportunity for recreation with swimming and boating on Sunset Lake, fire pit for evening gathering, hiking trails, and team building activities.CWES is a 200-acre teaching and learning center located 17 miles east of Stevens Point, WI.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO:

This camp is centered around a strength-oriented approach to running, while consistently touching on speed or speed drills to improve or maintain running efficiency. Chris Solinsky has a belief that a successful distance athlete is one that finds a volume that not only challenges them, but also one that they can do consistently. If there is one secret in distance running it is that there are no secrets, but the key to success is safely pushing the limit consistently over time - this is what allows athletes to become so aerobically strong and to compete with the best!

Most of our staff are previous Anokijig campers, so they bring a perspective to their leadership role that is deeply enhanced by Anokijig's rich spirit and tradition. All staff attend an extensive training program prior to camp opening. Senior staff members carry certifications in First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuerer. Certified lifeguards are present for all swimming and boating activities. Medical staff live on site during the summer camp season. Local clinics and hospitals are 5-10 minutes away with quick EMS response.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: This position is open to those individuals who are fifteen years of age or older and until graduation from High School. Junior Staff members’ job responsibilities have two different phases. Junior Staff are assigned to camper groups. Under the direct supervision of Senior Staff, Junior Staff will work as a counselor in training and will be in direct contact with the campers. Camper group duties include sleeping in the tents, dining hall supervision, and general supervision in the day-to-day care for the campers.

The second phase of the responsibility is an assignment to a program area. Once again, under the supervision of a trained Senior Staff member, Junior Staff will assist in the teaching and supervision of the campers at the program areas. Program areas include: swimming, canoeing, paddlesports, sailing, windsurfing, fishing, horseback riding, arts & crafts, archery, riflery, nature, dance & drama, digital photography, woodworking, ukulele band, glee choir, and maintenance.

Benefits from the Junior Staff program include leadership training, program skill training, room and board, and the availability of a job reference, if desired, for future employment.

All Junior Staff members are required to complete an application with references and attend a week long staff training. We request that each Junior Staff member complete at least two camp weeks of service in addition to their training week. This is a volunteer position.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We believe that every child should have an opportunity to experience Camp Anokijig. Through the generosity of many caring people, scholarships are available.

Campers can also "Earn their Way" by participating in our candy and/or internet gift sales program.

Discounts are also offered when you bring new friends or siblings.

Contact the camp office for more information regarding scholarships and financial aid programs.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Established in 1955, Harand Camp was one of the nation's first co-ed, residential camps to combine SINGING, DANCING, and ACTING with the FUN of traditional camp activities. Located on the campus of Carthage College in Kenosha, WI, Harand offers the best non-competitive musical theater training for campers ages 7 to 18. In addition to performing arts, campers enjoy sports and elective activities, excursions, and all-camp events. Campers attend for 1, 3, or 6 weeks. Sessions culminate with large-scale performances in our state-of-the-art theater. At Harand Camp...No Man is an Island...and EVERYONE is a STAR!

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: The Mission of the Harand Camp Scholarship Fund is to provide camp scholarships to young people, ages 7 to 18, from diverse and "at risk" backgrounds, who have an interest in music, dance, drama, or technical theater, and have financial need. We are dedicated to making camp accessible for children of all backgrounds. To ensure this, the Harand Camp Scholarship Fund offers a sliding scale of aid to low- and middle-income families. Visit Our Camp Website Link: harandcamp.com

OTHER CAMP INFO: Schedule: Campers spend half the day in theater classes and the other half in activity classes of their own choosing. Evenings and Sundays include a rotating schedule of rehearsals, cabin nights, and all-camp events and games. Living: Upon arrival, our campers (ages 7 - 18) are divided into "cabins" by age and reside together in the dorms (2-3 per room).

Food: Meals are served three times a day in the dining hall which features many options, including a salad bar, and frozen yogurt.

Performing Arts Program: Harand Camp adheres to a non-competitive philosophy where everyone is a star (the primary goal is for all campers to build self-confidence & self-esteem). In preparation for final performances, campers take daily classes in singing, dancing, and dramatics in the morning or afternoon. Occasional rehearsals are held in the evening (alternating with activities & events). Each session then culminates with a large-scale performance for friends, family, and alumni in a state-of-the-art theatre.

First 3-Week Session (Pageant) - Campers participate in a full-length musical revue involving the entire camp. Each age group prepares two sections of non-stop singing and dancing and appear on stage no less than three times.

Past Harand Camp pageants include: Tributes to Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Movie Musicals, Women of Broadway, the Tony Awards, Broadway Rock Musicals, etc.

Second 3-Week Session (Shows) - During the second three weeks, each age group prepares a full-length show. Unlike at other camps, Haranders have the chance to take on leading roles, as well as learn how to be a part of the ensemble ensuring that every camper receives the full musical theatre experience.

Electives and Activities: In addition to the theatre program, campers also register for three periods of elective activities per day. The camp operates on an alternating schedule of A-Days (M, W, F) and B-Days (Tu, Th, Sa), so campers actually have six classes of their own choosing. Examples may include Soccer, Basketball, Swimming, Volleyball, Badminton, Cheerleading, Tennis, Fitness, Zumba, Technical Theatre, Costuming, Improv, Audition Coaching, Story Theatre, Hip Hop, Tap, Photography, Film & Video, Arts & Crafts, Creative Writing, Board Games, etc. When not rehearsing in the evening, campers enjoy cabin nights and events, as well as all-camp competitions, concerts and excursions.

Participants will set the schedule, control the route, and are given the freedom to develop their own games and activities while on our programs.

Participants will sleep in tents (excepting sailing programs, where accommodations are typically on the boats themselves). Participants will typically travel daily, learning to prepare their own meals on fires and camp stoves, setting up their own schedules, learning outdoor skills (survival skills, map and compass, etc...), and learning about group dynamics.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Crystalaire has been offering alternative outdoor adventure education experiences for almost a century. Our staff are highly trained, and will have lifeguarding and wilderness medicine certifications as well as prior experience. We believe in creating playful and inclusive trips in wild places that offer meaningful experiences for all participants. We consider each trip to be a "microsociety," and give our participants the chance to weigh in and decide how they want that "microsociety" to function, how they want people to be treated, and how they want group decisions to be made.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: 16 and 17 year old campers are welcome to join us on our Cojourn, a 3-week outdoor leadership intensive that focuses on our group management and social dynamics curriculum. More information can be found online.

They are both Harvard-educated and their 5 children were the inspiration behind the creation of this revolutionary new summer program

Brain Chase is a 6-week summer learning challenge disguised as a massive global treasure hunt for 2nd−8th graders. A golden globe has been buried somewhere on earth – and it contains the key to a safe deposit box holding a $10,000 college scholarship fund. Participants who complete an hour of online summer learning activities each day will unlock secret animated webisodes that hold the clues to the globe’s whereabouts. Guess the treasure’s location first, and you’ll be the one on a plane to dig it up.

Enrollment is limited to the first 5,000 entrants.
Kickoff is June 30. Last registration July 18.

You’ll do the challenge when you want, where you want, and at your own pace. And it’s CUSTOMIZED. You get to work at your own level. - See more at: Our Camp Website Link: brainchase.com

Our coaches and site directors make a significant difference to your child's on-field experience. Chosen for their strong personal character, responsibility, and capacity to effectively communicate sports skills to youth, our staff will make the extra effort every time to ensure that your children have the best on-field/court experience, emphasize teamwork, and learn life skills through sports. At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety. Additionally, it develops a level of trust between parent, coach, and child that ultimately leads to a fun and skill-focused camp for youth.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Swift Nature Camp is an overnight nature camp for boys and girls ages 6-15. Our focus is to blend traditional summer camp activities while increasing a child's appreciation for nature, science and the environment.

Our special Discovery Camp is a nurturing program for first-time overnight campers, offering additional staff to provide support and encouragement to overcome homesickness and build confidence. The program welcomes no more than 50 first-time campers, and the special attention that this intimate group receives is the reason that more than 92% of them wish to return.

Swift Nature Camp offers traditional summer camp activities along with an environmental focus. Campers enjoy an active Nature Center, Pet Zoo, and Department of Natural Resources sponsored programs, plus recreational activities that include canoe and backpack trips, horseback riding, swimming, arts & crafts, team courses, archery, sailing, water skiing, tubing and sports.

In addition to these traditional activities, Swift Nature Camp is so much more. We are a child-centered program located away from technology, celebrity culture and academic pressures. Through fun activities and positive staff role models, we help children develop lifelong skills such as confidence, teamwork, leadership, compassion and communication. Our small size allows us to promote each child's personal development by providing fun, friendship and leadership in a supportive and noncompetitive environment. While away from home, children will have the opportunity to act on their own, become self-reliant, and try things for themselves.

Many of our kids return year after year saying that "Swift allows me to be my real self with real people." And we feel that's a good thing!

All of this happens in the fun and sun of the north woods of Wisconsin. For staff and campers alike, Swift Nature Camp is more than just a place to be: it is their summer home. So why not have your child join our summer camp family this summer?

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leaders-in-Training, ages 13-15
• 2-week session from July 24 - August 5
The LIT program is a two-week session designed for teens who are still looking to attend camp, while also developing valuable leadership skills useful for the road ahead. As a group, LITs work through our challenge courses, assist counselors with instruction, and grow as leaders in a community – both at camp and in the “real world.” Our leadership programs focus on effective communication and collaboration, while also defining what it means to be a leader.

Counselors-in-Training, ages 15-17
• 2-week session from July 10-22
At the end of this two-week session, CIT campers will leave feeling confident in their leadership, mentorship, and teaching skills, and will be prepared to serve in this role both at camp, and in their communities. During the first week, CIT campers will gain insight into all aspects of a counselor’s job at camp. Mirroring camp’s own staff training, CITs will participate in a series of activities that address such topics as basic child development and behavior management, counseling techniques and best practices, communication and leadership, environmental stewardship, and community service. The second week of the CIT program acts as an internship, where CITs are placed with cabin groups where they shadow staff, and experience what it takes to be a summer camp counselor.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Camp Pepin has a variety of ways for your children and your family to reap the benefits of a camp experience. We offer families the choice of participating in a pre-camp payment plan that allows you to make smaller payments that fit your budget, as well as sibling and multiple session discounts.
