CAMP FACILITIES: Camp activities take place primarily in the new performing arts center, which includes a beautiful recital hall, dozens of classrooms and practice rooms and well as other rehearsal spaces and studios. Campers and staff stay in one of the dorm halls opposite the PAC. All facilities are air-conditioned.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Campers at FMC can be involved in a wide variety of activities. Everyone receives two private lessons every week; students can opt to have both lessons on one instrument or study two different instruments while at camp. Each camper has a block dedicated to coached practice time every day. Students who play band or orchestra instruments play with their respective large ensembles and some also play in a chamber group, an ensemble of 2-5 people, which is also coached by a faculty member. In addition, all campers sing in the choir and are somehow involved in the production of a musical. Campers also get to choose 1-3 classes that can range from music theory to jazz band to composition and even acting.
The faculty at FMC are nothing short of fantastic. Many of the teaching staff have master's and doctoral degrees from amazing music schools such as Juilliard, University of Michigan, the Manhattan School, University of Texas, and others. Each staff member also has years of teaching experience.
As you can see, the range of musical opportunity at FMC is enormous. However, what brings campers back year after year are the friendships they make at camp. FMC prides itself on being a radically inclusive and caring community. Campers often blossom at FMC just from being in a community where kindness reigns. One example of such community that is especially poignant is that campers are all required to perform a solo on a recital at some point during camp. For many campers, this is their first experience of such a performance. During student recitals, the campers in the audience greet each perform with enthusiastic applause, cheers, and often standing ovations, regardless of whether the piece performed was a long, virtuosic piece or a short, sweet tune. Support for everyone's musical development is ever present.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: No one should rule out the possibility of attending FMC because of cost. Scholarships are available, based on financial need.
To apply for a scholarship, include with your camp application:

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Since 1979, Skyhawks sports has led safe, fun and skill-focused sports camps and programs for youth between the ages of 3-12.
We offer many different different sports--and countless ways for your child to grow. The camps range from soccer to baseball to our popular mulit-sport camps where kids sample three different sports (soccer, basketball and baseball) in one camp.
Our camps and programs are offered locally throughout over 500 communities. The format includes traditional week-long summer day camps and year-round after-school programs that range from 45 minutes to 6 hours in duration, per day. Our progression of camps and programs, led by our expert staff, are generated toward youth looking for a sport introduction or those who want to refine and master their sport-specific skills.
For Detailed Information on ALL of our summer sports camps, please visit our website at Our Camp Website Link: www.skyhawks.com.
Our coaches and site directors make a significant difference to your child's on-field experience. Chosen for their strong personal character, responsibility, and capacity to effectively communicate sports skills to youth, our staff will make the extra effort every time to ensure that your children have the best on-field/court experience, emphasize teamwork, and learn life skills through sports. Our staff are required to complete our extensive certification process.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: We offer financial aid for those families that qualify. Please call 1.800.804.3509 for an application.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: We offer year round programs in select states, please see our website for complete information on all Skyhawks Sport Camps in your area.
OTHER CAMP INFO: Skyhawks Sports Camps are SAFETY FOCUSED!
At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.
Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. Eye contact is maintained from each one of our staff members until the kids make it onto the field/court where they are grouped by age. This efficient process ensures safety. Additionally, it develops a level of trust between parent, coach, and child that ultimately leads to a fun and skill-focused camp for youth.

Horse Camp
Throughout the week participants in the all new Horse Camp will travel to Dusty Dreams horse ranch to spend time each day learning to ride and take care of horses. While at camp they will also get a chance to participate in sessions that will focus on personal growth and group building skills. Of course there will be time for the many activities such as swimming, games, and devotions that are so popular at Lutherhaven.
Discovery Camp
This is your chance to spend the week learning or developing skills such as guitar playing, outdoor cooking, drama, fishing, sports, creative writing or waterfront activities. The best part is that YOU CHOOSE what activities you do during the week. The options will vary depending on the talent and creativity of the summer staff, but the fun and discovery are built in.
Adventure Unlimited
Do you enjoy being outside? Then this camp is for you! The schedule is similar to our regular youth camp, but more emphasis is put on the outdoor experience with activities including rock climbing, canoeing, camping skills, orienteering, outdoor cooking, hiking, and fishing. Learn new skills in each of these areas and add new ones next year.
Fine Arts
Feel like you are just waiting to unleash that inner Van Gogh? Take time this summer to develop your talents at our new Fine Arts Camp. This camp gives emerging artists a chance to test and develop their artistic abilities as they get a taste of the arts. Several subjects including dancing, improv, drawing, photography, printmaking, and more, will be taught in hour and a half sessions each day by guest artists. Participants can choose up to 4 areas of study. It’s a great week to explore your artistic side while getting to enjoy the friendship and fun of summer camp.
Basketball Camp
Our basketball camps allow you to refine your current skills as well as learn new ones during your six-day stay. Led by Concordia Lutheran High School basketball coach, Eric Kaschinske, campers will spend 3-5 hours a day on the courts of Camp Lutherhaven and a local gymnasium developing their talents. Campers will be housed in cabins and also participate in other camp activities. This camp is limited to 24 campers, so register quickly.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Founded in 2014 by Austin parents Allan and Heather Staker, Brain Chase is the product of his filmmaking/tech background and her online education expertise. They are both Harvard-educated and their 5 children were the inspiration behind the creation of this revolutionary new summer program
Brain Chase is a 6-week summer learning challenge disguised as a massive global treasure hunt for 2nd−8th graders. A golden globe has been buried somewhere on earth – and it contains the key to a safe deposit box holding a $10,000 college scholarship fund. Participants who complete an hour of online summer learning activities each day will unlock secret animated webisodes that hold the clues to the globe’s whereabouts. Guess the treasure’s location first, and you’ll be the one on a plane to dig it up.
Enrollment is limited to the first 5,000 entrants.
Kickoff is June 30. Last registration July 18.
- See more at: Our Camp Website Link: brainchase.com
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Additional children from same household are half off for each registration.
OTHER CAMP INFO: You spend 10 months of every year in school, but much of that hard work likely vanishes during summer break. Who wants to do boring worksheets when school’s out? Brain Chase is a summer enrichment program that’s FUN. Action-packed animations, mysterious packages in the mail, and the hunt for buried treasure turn learning into an adventure. It’s FLEXIBLE. You’ll do the challenge when you want, where you want, and at your own pace. And it’s CUSTOMIZED. You get to work at your own level. - See more at: Our Camp Website Link: brainchase.com
