CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Licensed social workers, grief professionals, and volunteers will be supervising your child at Camp Comfort. To ensure that each child receives plenty of personal attention, specially trained volunteers, called "buddies," stay with their assigned campers throughout the weekend including in the cabins at night. A camp nurse is available for first aid and dispensing of medication. All staff and volunteers are screened and have undergone background checks.

Summer Program Director Cora Garner is an American Camp Association Member. She came to us after working at Cornell University, Stanford University, and most recently the University of California, Berkeley. Through her work in Higher Education, she has developed and taught courses that focus on identity and community development.

At Girls Leadership we want you to be true-to-you. Every day starts with community games. Our theatre-based workshops focus on developing personal and societal leadership, such as how to ask for what you need. In these sessions girls practice new tools for speaking up for themselves and for others.

We also create beautiful art projects, stay active outside, and always have a spirit theme for the day. These activities are designed to encourage girls to embrace who they are, reflect on what they believe, and give them an opportunity to express themselves creatively.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Year-Round dance classes are provided at The Academy of Kim Robards Dance. Programs are offered for dancers ages 3-adult, including a Pre-Professional Program that includes year-round, comprehensive dance training as well as multiple performance opportunities.

Katerina Romanenko, Ph.D. Assistant Director of Youth and Family Programs

An experienced educator and visual culture historian, Dr. Romanenko specializes in Museum education, art history, American History, and object-based learning in formal and informal environments. She holds a PhD in Art History from the City University of New York and for more than 15 years teaches art history and works in Museum education. She also holds a BA in Education Sciences and has experience in research, development and implementation of educational programs for different age groups.

Alicia Mino, Art Educator, Manager of the School and Community Programs

An accomplished practicing artists and art educator, Alicia Mino received her Master’s in visual communication from the Metropolitan University of Chile, She spent fifteen years in Italy studying art history, oil painting, and sculpture. She presented in numerous art exhibitions and founded the Mates Art and Design Studio, where she taught drawing, oil/acrylic painting, and sculpture fundamentals for ten years. In 2008 Alicia moved to Philadelphia where she continues to exhibit her work and teaches art.

Lindsey Murphy, Art Educator and K-8 Program Coordinator

An art educator with over a decade of experience in the field of education, Lindsey Murphy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology; concentration in Archaeology from Millersville University, and an Elementary Teaching Certification from Millersville University. She worked as a general education classroom teacher in the Oxford Area School District in Chester County, PA for 8 years, and has worked in PAFA’s education department over the past 11 years creating and implementing numerous museum tours and art making experiences for children and families of all backgrounds, becoming the K-8 Program Coordinator in 2019..

Melissa Hendrixson, Art Educator

Melissa Hendrixson is an artist and art educator who has worked in Museum Education for over five years. She has her Bachelor's of Fine Arts and Studio Certificate from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has gained experience through assisting the coordination and development of various museum programming including family programs, youth art classes, and summer camps. She now works for the School and Community Partnership Program as an art educator where she develops and implements museum tours, school lessons, and community outreach programs to support student learning, parental engagement and visual literacy initiatives.

1) Youth Academy - Designed for boys and girls ages 6-10. Fun, exciting and engaging activities are all part of the week. In our unique evening competitions, players will have the opportunity to compete against other teams, other players and themselves.

4) College Prep Academy - Our goal is to provide an incredible environment where serious soccer players will be exposed to the highest level of instruction in anticipation of playing at the highest level possible. High Performance Seminars will be led by trusted experts in their field and will include: Sports Nutrition, Soccer Specific Conditioning, ACT/SAT Preparation and Sport Psychology. CAMP FACILITIES: Log cabins on the historic site of the Hewes-Kirkwood Inn dot the landscape of Rocky Ridge Music Center's 17 acres of alpine forest at the foot of Longs Peak. There are approximately 40 buildings including a main lodge, dining hall, office, and series of residential and practice cabins. The dining hall doubles as concert hall and lecture/rehearsal room. Boys residential cabins and girls residential cabins are on opposite sides of the campus with faculty residential cabins and other buildings in the middle. Trained, qualified counselors reside in the residential cabins with the students. Practice cabins are found throughout campus with pianos available in most cabins. Rocky Ridge owns a state-of-the-art water filtration system is tested daily and provides plenty of clean, mountain-fresh water on campus.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Road Less Traveled as an organization was founded by Jim and Donna Stein in 1991, and has been successfully running safe, exciting, life-changing trips for teens ever since. Both Jim and Donna are still the current directors, and are integrally involved in every single aspect of the company. In the summer, they are on call 24/7, available both to parents as well as to our leaders in the field.

We are an ACA accredited organization with an impeccable track record. We believe in the process of accreditation. It allows us to compare our standards to other professionals in the industry. Our accreditation allows us to follow specific standards related to leader screening including use of application forms, reference checks, personal interviews, work history review, and background checks.

Many years ago, we were the first company serving young adults to require that all leaders have a Wilderness First Responder (WFR) medical certification. WFR training is far more advanced than standard first aid or wilderness first aid. In addition to this certification, we carry extensive first aid kits on all of our programs that include antibiotics and epinephrine. Contents, protocols, and standing orders are reviewed and updated every year by our Medical Director who is an MD.

Since our inception, RLT has been on the cutting edge of technological advances in communication. We began carrying Iridium satellite phones on all of our programs as soon as they were available. Today we continue to carry the latest in emergency communication systems. According to geographic location, programs are equipped with satellite phones, ground-to-air radios, and/or cellular phones providing the possibility of 24-hour access to medical help in case of emergency.

• For Adventure Programs: Knowledge of three or more wilderness travel methods. Whitewater rafting, sea kayaking, international trekking, biking, backpacking, technical rock or ice climbing and mountaineering. Mandatory requirements for adventure trips include: the ability to lead groups of students on backpacking trips of three to eight days, ability to comfortably lead through remote wilderness areas. This includes, but is not limited to, backpacking preparations, backcountry travel, route finding, campsite selection, equipment maintenance, Leave No Trace camping techniques in desert and alpine terrain and proper protocol in dense bear country.

All leaders must possess the ability to make prudent decisions in adverse conditions. International Service Learning and Language Immersion Programs: Leaders and must be highly proficient or fluent in the spoken language of the program country (Spanish, etc.) and have extensive experience with community service, international travel, managing multiple responsibilities abroad, experience and/or living abroad, cultural immersion. CAMP FACILITIES: Nike Soccer Campers will play on one of the finest synthetic turf soccer facilities in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Mountain Lion Stadium is in its ninth year of operation after renovations during the 2005 season.

The stadium is located in the North Campus of UCCS, which will be the future home of the Ent Center for Performing Arts. The complex was formerly known as the Four Diamonds Sports Complex.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The Junior Academy is intended to help soccer players of all abilities ages 10-16 develop athletically, refine fundamental skills and enhance their skill set at the forward, midfielder, sweeper or goal keeper position.

Our goal is to stimulate a love for the game by immersing you in the sport and giving you the kind of focused, intensive training essential to improvement. Over the course of camp, your enthusiasm and self-confidence will grow along with your skills.

At Skyhawks we go the extra mile to focus on safety, and we have a long-standing proven safety track record and processes to prove it. For example, all Skyhawks Sports camps start and end with our unique safety process called "Gate System and Parking Lot Duty." This process is where coaches come and greet both parents and campers in the parking lot when parents pull up to drop off their children.

Our staff guide the kids onto the field/court and out of harm's way by funneling them into our gate system. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Join us this summer as we show your children the wonders of coding. Coding with Kids is committed to furthering STEM education and instilling a passion for life-long learning in students.

We are excited to partner with various locations around the Denver Boulder area to offer summer camps in 2017! Our camps here are either half-day (9AM - 12PM or 1PM-4PM) or full-day (9AM - 4PM) and last Monday through Friday.

Camps offered include:

Little Coders (Ages 5-7)
Campers will develop computational thinking skills, foster creativity, and have fun coding! This camp features a blend of connected and "unplugged" activities to keep campers engaged. Kids will create their own interactive story or computer game!

Game Development (Beginner or Intermediate/Advanced, Ages 8-12)
Tech-savvy instructors will introduce students to core coding concepts at the heart of computer science, and guide small groups of campers (max. 8) in creating both an interactive story and a video game of their own, using Scratch.

Minecraft Modding (Ages 8-15)
This camp is the perfect choice for all Minecraft players. Each camper will be given access to their private Minecraft server where they can customize the game. Students will be coding mods to create new tools, items, environments, non-playable characters, and more. It will be fun to test them out with friends!

Python (Ages 10-16)
Is your emerging coder ready to learn a professional programming language? Campers will be introduced to Python and gain experience with key concepts, such as data structures and algorithms, while building several projects. The projects may include terminal-based game, data analysis, or web scraping.

Web Development (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Ages 10-16)
Instructors will introduce fundamentals of web design and development. Campers will learn how to create their own website and a web-based game. Projects can be shared with family and friends via online access through CodePen.

Arduino (Ages 10-16)
Campers will explore the world of electronics and make their first step towards building robots or self-driving cars! Create a simple circuit with an Arduino board, add LEDs and sensors, then program them in the C programming language to create an alarm, light display or a music generator!

Coding with Kids Is a multi-state computer programming academy for ages 5-16. Our mission is to inspire future generations to create software solutions for greater good. In addition to summer camps, we offer:
